The Brief

Softball Austin ran everything through LeagueApps. It handled registration well and not much else. Volunteers couldn't update the site, and there was nowhere to put photos or news about upcoming games. We rebuilt on WordPress, kept LeagueApps for registration, and gave the league back control of its own site.

How We Built It

WordPress and Kadence

A clean responsive layout on Kadence and Kadence Blocks Pro. The league can change things later without calling us.

Photos From the Field

Players send a photo from a phone through a short form, tagged with the season and division. The league reviews each one before it appears in the right album.

The Texas Hoedown, a Site Within the Site

The tournament section has its own header, navigation, menu and footer, so it reads as the Hoedown while sharing the league's hosting, registration and photo tools. One site to maintain.

Volunteers Can Run It

Staff and volunteers update the site themselves. That was the whole point of leaving the old setup behind.

Most players open the site on a phone between games. The header keeps the season notice, dates and the photo link in reach before the menu.

Share a Photo

One photo at a time, tagged with the season and division so it lands in the right album. The league reviews every photo before it goes up, and the form says so.

The tournament has its own header, colors, navigation and footer inside the league's site. Teams register, check fields and read the rules without leaving softballaustin.org.

The Photo Albums
